At Bolton Designs we are committed to supporting charities through our crafting endeavours. We have a long family tradition of supporting good causes. Our current charities are:
TRUST Children’s Homes, Vengadampatty village, Tirunelveli district, Tamil Nadu, India

TRUST is an NGO that provides local support, without discrimination on grounds of religion or caste to people in the local community. TRUST stands for the Thirumiran Rural Upliftment Stable Trust. It was set up by an inspirational man, Dr. P Thirumaran, originally a teacher, who rescued 5 orphaned children from the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami. After many trials and tribulations, today, 13 years later, he runs 2 children’s homes and a village school, and has also spearheaded other local initiatives such as blood donation and a free ambulance service.
We visited the TRUST children’s homes and were inspired by the warmth of the welcome from Thirumaran and his wife and the local volunteers and by the happiness of the children. Local handmade craft skills are supported at the TRUST and are vibrant in the local area. Our range of Indian goods are from the local area. All sales of these are in support of the TRUST.

Classrooms in the Clouds is an NGO that exists to support children’s education in the remote villages of Nepal.
The UK support group work with their Nepalese partners to support education by building new classrooms, sponsoring teachers, and supporting teacher training. We fundraise for this charity by selling handmade knitted items at the Kaboodle store in Church Stretton.
